In 1910, R.V. nehrer and others in Switzerland prepared aluminum foil by strip rolling, which made aluminum foil enter the stage of industrial production. Since then, the rolling equipment and process technology have made continuous progress, especially after the Second World War, there has been new progress almost every 10 years. The development overview is shown in Table 1

China’s first aluminum foil factory was built in Shanghai in 1932 φ 350mm × 800mm to φ 230mm × There are more than 20 550mm roughing, medium and finishing mills, which can produce 3000t of lining paper and aluminum foil per year. In 1960, a set of aluminum foil processing equipment designed and manufactured by China was invested in Harbin. Its technical characteristics were similar to those in Shanghai, meeting the needs of military industry, electrical appliances and some packaging at that time. Later, a set of aluminum foil rolling mill (one coarse and three fine) was built in Longxi, Gansu Province, with an annual production capacity of 1000t, which is technically equivalent to the level of 1940s ~ 1950s. In 1976, it was expanded into a set of modern rolling mill and coiler in Harbin, and the coiler, shear and annealing furnace were designed and manufactured by ourselves, which made China’s aluminum foil production a step towards modernization. In 1980, a 1600mm wide aluminum foil production line was built in Zhuozhou, Hebei Province. The designed rolling speed is 1200m /min, which makes China’s aluminum foil production step into the ranks of world modernization. Subsequently, the new plants in Kunming and Shijiazhuang were completed, the second phase projects in Longxi and Zhuozhou, and the Shanghai wide aluminum foil mill were put into operation. The aluminum plate, strip and foil production line invested by China International Trust and Investment Corporation in Qinhuangdao is one of the most modern large-scale aluminum foil production lines in the world. It was put into operation in 1991, with a roll body length of 2250mm and a designed maximum rolling speed of 2000m /min. (see page 18 of the color picture inset) by June 1992, China had 70 aluminum foil factories with a total production capacity of about 100000 tons, 24 aluminum foil rolling mills with roll body length greater than LM, and 20 factories with an annual output of more than 1000 tons, with a production capacity of 80000 tons

The reflectivity of aluminum foil is 60% ~ 95%. The thinner the aluminum foil, the more rolling passes, and the higher the reflectivity. When aluminum foil is used as the package of food, medicine and other articles, the moisture permeability and corrosion resistance shall be checked. The unit of moisture permeability is g /(M2 • d). The smaller the value, the better. The corrosion resistance of aluminum foil to various articles is shown in Table 4
